Honestly, it is logic to have a OoT remake for the succesor of the Switch. It will server both as a Zelda Launching tittle and to show the graphical power of the new console. Oot was released on 1998 , and its last re-release on the 3DS was in 2011. I think that it is now available on the Switch online expansion pack? but for most people it is going to be like a totally new game.

I hope you’re right. Seems valid and I can’t wait for a remake. We need a true remake and not remaster for sure.

Sadly, I think you’re correct about the next new 3D installment being fully open. Although I would prefer a more tightly designed experience with some open sections (similar to Elden ring’s open field design)

I think the game is extremely impressive for a Switch game. I almost find it hard to believe that this could possibly run on the switch at 60 FPS.... I still almost wonder if it will be a dual generation release on both the Switch and Switch successor. This just goes to show how little most developers take advantage of the hardware of the consoles that they develop for.

Your videos remind me of what it was like to hang out on Nintnedo message boards in the late 90's and early 2000's during the AOL era. I spent a fair amount of time back then on the IGN & PlanetGamecube message boards and I really enjoyed the time spent sharing Nintendo rumors and speculation with other fans on those websites. In a way, your videos bring that era to life. I'm sure any old heads in the comments will know what I'm talking about. About that Oracle of Ages/Seasons needs a Switch port back in 2001 a 3rd ORACLE game was planned but the GBC just couldn't handle 3 games at once so it never got released that COULD get a release IF Ages/Seasons got a Switch version.

The next flag ship game for the new switch will be a Mario game no doubt. Mario + switch 2 in 2025 along with Metroid ect. that being said, I think late 2026-2027 will be the year Zelda comes back in a bigger way with remakes like OOT / MM, maybe twilight + possibly another new 2D Zelda I don’t think we’ll see a new 3D Zelda title until 2028 minimum

Aonuma is so obsessed with freedom of Zelda games he became it's prisoner. Isn't it ironic? Numbers don't reveal everything. There are many, many people who used to be fans of the franchise and start dropping out. But we bought BotW cause it was the first to differ and back at the time no Zelda fan would hesitate on buying a new Zelda game. And we bought TotK, because it was advertised that dungeons will be more creative and the game will be more story driven, so it was giving a feeling of finding somewhere in between, while in fact it mostly doubled down on what BotW established for the future of the series. And now Echoes of Wisdom are portrayed again as something trying to meet both worlds, but will it really? I hesitate. You can see the heart container on the pillar, and it reminds of link to the past alternate universe / continuation, but at the end of the day are we sure it's not gonna mainly focus on an open sandbox with no real feeling of progression and emptified story for the sake of killing linearity? We already know we won't have items but the wand that copies everything like you have hand skills from TotK. I wonder, will it be time hundred of thousands (I'm not exaggerating) of Zelda fans turn back and not buy the game? If it happens, will Nintendo and Aonuma just think "they don't want to play as Zelda" ignoring the real reason? I think Botw/Totk fans underestimate the number of people not really digging that new direction of the series, but when you are one of them and look for others who share your opinion you happen to come across enormous groups of people who are simply sad their favourite franchise lost it's appeal and soul for the sake of modernity. So let me end it with one paradox question I wish I could ask mr. Aonuma: - You sacrificed finding key items like new weapons (boomerang, hookshot etc.) in dungeons, because it would make it impossible to create a game where you can go wherever you want and make real use of those items outside of dungeons they are put in. It also comes against that "freedom" of solving puzzles different ways because that makes the item not significant. You also sacrificed real storytelling for the sake of collectable memories, because if the story actually progressed in the game, it would mean there has to be some sort of order, which also comes against that "freedom" idea where you can go anywhere and do everything orderless. Lastly, you sacrificed element of creating deep and long-term puzzles (like thematical dungeon puzzles that you work on through progressing the dungeon etc.), because with the way it works in these newer games, it would be against that system to create puzzles preventing player to be solved before achieving something as that is against the "freedom" of the game. So the question is: If this concept prevents you from designing things mentioned higher and prevents players from experiencing those features, are those games really establishing "freedom", or is it just "openess" that draws both positives and negatives of the game design? Sorry, fans of BotW/TotK i respect all of you and your opinions, but there are a LOT of people who also share opinion like mine. Our opinion is that those games serve creative ways of gameplay but sacrifice too much to achieve it, mainly progression, that can be seen in gameplay progression - expanding Link's arsenal / abilities through progressing in the game (Link gets all his needed tools in the tutorial), story/narrative progression (the game doesn't give you direction which doesn't give you a push to move forward with the plot, making it feel dull and giving you less exciting experience of discovering the story elements) and, ironically, world buidling progression - because everything has to be ready from the get go, it limits what they can expand on in the later part of playthrough, or should I say, when you arrive to locations. I will name things I believe BotW and TotK done well though, because I want to praise these games too, I can see positives of the titles, although they are less important for me than the downsides. First of all, I think the game gives you a possibility of very creative combat. I am a fan of their idea of creating a combat where you can use the environment to your advantage, I'd like them to work more on creating smarter AI to use the environment better than they do now - I just see potential of improvement, but I think it's going in a good way. What I want to step back though are boss battles. I think TotK made them way better than BotW, but I really think making bosses more puzzle-focused would bring back the essence of Zelda games that was a great game design of the games and can shine more, the bosses still have some gimmicks to them but I like it when I had to spend a lot of time to figure out what I can even do in the battle, I think it was simply more satisfying to fight the boss. On the other hand there is more potential in terms of difficulty in bosses from TotK, so finding a right spot between should be the objective. I also obviously enjoy traveling. I think it's not that linear games had bad-designed world, just the options of traveling sometimes were lacking. BotW/TotK serve a really nice traveling kit of abilities which make it a pleasant experience. Still, I think the obsesive openess harms the ability of creating games with a real feeling of progression and dynamically satisfying experience, which is a key to a fun adventure - I think it's missing and I'm really sad they are sticking to this formula that much, as it clearly has downsides and clearly lots of people are not fond of the changes because of it. I might wait with buying future Zelda titles to see if those games are really for me and I wonder how many people will do the same. At the end of the day, if the numbers really tell Nintendo and Aonuma what they should keep on doing or change, it will come with time they must realize that numbers of BotW/TotK were build also on people who wanted a different product and will drop out with future titles. My heart will always have Zelda franchise there, but mostly for the older games, unless some major factors make a comeback changing the experience to be closer to my ideals.

Well, I think Aonuma want to let everyone know that Echoes of Wisdom is spinoff He not involved too much. He did say that he didn't get all echoes in the promotion clip. ... He might doing other new Zelda for switch 2. Because A Team don't do port.

Imma be real, this sounds like a conspiracy theory but you have me totally convinced

Maybe Echoes of Wisdom is an addition to the Era of the Wild's storyline. It seems to be set in a setting that's more of a natural progression to ALTTP's Hyrule, but that would be in line with the comment that they won't use BOTW's Hyrule again. We see Swamp Zora (who make for a better pre-cursor to the Era of the Wild Rito), River Zora, the Deku Tree (who hasn't visually made it into past Downfall games) and (as a definite first) the Gerudo. With all the weird rifts opening and Zelda taking on a companion that's based on the Triforce, perhaps this game gives an explanation for how timelines can collapse. Such an occurence would have long-felt implications that echo throughout the series. If it is the timeline collapsing, perhaps this would set up a clear motive for later combining the different timelines to ensure stability. Said fusion would have more drastic effects than I believe the caster would understand, sending Hyrule back to square one in terms of civilization.

I would bet my first born child on there being an Ocarina of Time Remake on Switch 2. I dont have any children though. :D

I do hope they will not remake ocarina of time, again.. its a amazing game... but I feel it is done. I would be interested to see more of that specific link, I just finished majora's mask 3d, had it for years, finally beat it. and wether we follow that link, straght away, or 7 years later, which could be interesting, especially if they do traditionally 3d dungeons, temples, but perhaps with that openes and fredom from botw, totk, and indeed expanding also on link between world, which I think is still the best game, perhaps echoes of wisdom will change that, as much as I love botw, totk.... link between world, is definetly more memoreable, and I think more exciting within the shorter time. but I do also love ocraina of time, while it has been some years since I beaten the 3ds version, and while I did play 2 times very far in the n64 on the wii version, I got stuck first at death mountain, and then second attempt at the water temple, but that was not my wii, so did not get to play to often, and not really got to experience the game before I got the 3ds, in like 2015 or 16.. I miss the dungeon and the memorable music, the melodys.. I really wish those 2 elements will return, while I like the fredoom of the 2 last 3d games, I think going a little bit closer to link between world would be awesome... so I hope the tease is not for a remake of ocarina, its an old game, while good, I think a reimageination, would be better, either in form of retelling of the storry in a fresh way, or continuing the story, in which rauru is present.. or just as they do with link and zelda, a new reincarnation of rauru in more of his original sage form... anyway.. excited for echoes of wisdom, and as much as I loved botw and totk... I really do wish for the next generation of swith, we get a little more compressed game, not to make it small, linear or take away from the fredoom of those other games... but... yeah... anyway, I have a feeling I will love whatever next zelda games that comes... because not only is the team incredibly talented, they are clearly very passionat about zelda, and nintendo appears to give them all the funds and time to really polish the game... after all the execution is usually the most important thing, and every zelda game is usually incredebly in that way, really exploring the main ideas of each instalment... but again. no more remakes.. unless it is zelda 2: adventure of link, I got a soft lock in that game, after coming really far and need restart, cuirous if the battery still works, as it has the original, and mayby a year or 2 since last played on it.. altough I think I will not play on the cartridge next time, I not had a tv in many years now, and while I can use my monitor, I much perfer gaming on handheld devices now.. but yeah, links adventure I think is the only game I would be interested in a remake, im just about to start at the minish cap, and I think that game needs no remake, I have played it quite alot in the past, but never completed, which I hope to do now, and also the oracle games im okay with no remake, they are good games, I suppose those would be okay with this new toy style, considering it is the same link as awakening.... but the zelda game I really think would benefit from remake is again, zelda 2, links adventure... I really loved that game btw, before the soft lock, and it can be a bit glitchy... there is alot of really cool elements in that game, and I honestly think that game is amazing, but it is a bit rough to play now a days, the first zelda games, I also don't think needs a remake, after all the oracle games started as that, and there are clearly elements of that within those... and link to the past kinda got, atleast too some degree with link between world.... but yeah, I hope they don't remake oot, but a continuation in story, or more reimaginiation, with more tradiontanly style, without compromising the freedom, since I don't think they are willing to go back on that... and I hope for a remake of zelda 2. indeed a completly new zelda game would be welcome too... really it would not suprise me if they finally fulfilled on myamoto's idea of the original zelda being in the future with time traveling.. zelda meets cyber punks could be awesome, considering clearly some ideas of this was present with botw concept..

Actually, the name was intended to be Raul. Rauru was just poorly translated, when Zelda 2 was released.

I want them to take what was done with OoT and MM and remake them for the next Switch. Have the games use proper reflections, refined models, bump maps and natural lighting and no boundaries.

Honestly I wish miyamoto was still in charge, give us classic Zelda again, with actual difficulties not being handheld through everything. Anouma just gonna keep recreating the same cel shaded Zelda games over and over example botw Totk same map same graphics, a link between worlds and echoes, same map same graphics 😩 gets kinda old

I think Aonuma saying no comment could mean either an OoT remake is in the works OR it is not currently in the works but would be would be interested in a remake later at some point.

I think is unlikely that echoes of wisdom is being developed by Grezzo because of all the crieative content behind it. Maybe they are part of the Project regarding coding and stuff, but i dont think grezzo is developing the entire thing

I think the OoT remake will happen in 2028 for the 30th anniversary, two years before the next mainline 3d game.
